Sometimes our customers ask us to copy or adapt existing gates from other properties.
For this project we were asked to copy a set of existing gates in Bath, but they were adapted to be lower in height and to have some minor details adjusted.
These iroko hardwood gates set a few challenges for us, the main one being the copying of the original mouldings. After a site survey, with some templates and photographs taken, we were armed with the information we needed to source bespoke tooling for our machines. This flexibility and machining ability allowed us to replicate the original mouldings.
Each component of this project was carefully set out by our most experienced joiner over many hours. Every moulding was cut by hand and glued into place on the gate frame, before being meticulously sanded to give a crisp clean finish.
Once assembled and finished these iroko gates were installed with automation onto steel posts, with an intercom to give modern security and functionality.
These iroko hardwood driveway gates were not treated and will be left to grey and weather over time.
